Hello, and Happy Valentine's Day!
The romance authors of Addictive Reads are sharing the love...
our idea of great gifts, Gift Cards, and lots of books!
My individual blog hop prize is a $10 Gift Card
(winner's choice: iBooks, Amazon, BN, or other ebook retailer)
See below for the Blog Hop GRAND PRIZE LIST
My list of 5 'perfect' gifts:
- Anything that gives me time with my husband. A weekend getaway would be great, but we haven't had one in 22+ years, so I'm not holding my breath. LOL Seriously, with 2 of the 3 kids still at home, an evening out is great, too.
- Someone to clean my house. That would be heaven. I'd have listed that first, but in case the hubby reads this--Look Honey, I listed you first!
- Someone to cook me dinner. Having to figure out what to make each night gets old fast. I love it when I don't have to do the cooking.
- Flowers are nice, but it kills me to know how much they cost around Valentine's Day. My solution is a massage on the actual day, then the flowers a week after would work wonderfully.
- A walk in the woods on a warm, sunny day, or a canoe ride around the lake at sunset (with mosquito spray in tow). Hard to do on Valentine's Day in Wisconsin, but to me that's relaxing and romantic, so there it is.
For your chance to win my individual prize, please leave a comment as to which of my five perfect gifts best fit you. I'll choose a winner using Random.org at the end of the event.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing you a weekend full of love with a special someone, family, and/or friends.

I prefer time spent with my husband. He is my rock and strength. The love of my life!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen we find a good one, it's good, right? :)
DeleteThe meal would be my first choice, but you must be my sister from another mother cause I'm with you there on the flowers. I would hate someone spending $50 or more on flowers when they'd be $20 in a week.
ReplyDeleteExactly! And to me, a full bouquet of carnations are just as pretty as roses. And they seem to last longer, too.
Delete#3 for me! After 37 years of figuring out what to cook, I'll take any opportunity not to have to! :o)
ReplyDeleteYep. Lately, as I'm writing my current book, we've been eating lots of leftovers the next day, or pizza. Breakfast for dinner is quick, too, when I realize I've forgotten to take anything out of the freezer. :)
DeleteDefinitely the massage. I can cook, clean, and smell the flowers. I find time with husband but I want someone else to give me a massage. That would feel wonderful
ReplyDeleteDefinitely treat yourself if you can!
Deleteoops

#5, the walk in the woods or a canoe ride, both are so relaxing
ReplyDeleteYep! I usually end up doing the canoe rides with the kids because hubby is working, but they're still good. :)
DeleteA weekend getaway sounds fantastic, although we have decided to stay at home and cook together. Happy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteTogether is good! :)
DeleteAll of the above, Stacey-Joy, LOL. But I'll settle for some chocolate...the good kind:-)
ReplyDeleteYep, chocolate is good, too. :)
DeleteOMG, someone to cook! It's just me, my mom and our pets but I'm the one doing the cooking during the week to help her out and not only am I NOT good at it but it takes me the whole day everyday!!! Lol, I'm domestically challenged and happy about it, except when I try to help out my mom.
ReplyDeleteA whole day cooking when you don't want to--sounds like torture. LOL I wish for you, someone to cook for you. :)
DeleteI would LOVE for someone to cook for me...a real, home cooked meal. I am the only one who shops and cooks and for once I would like someone else to do it!
ReplyDeletebooks4me67 at ymail dot com
Yep. So with you. That's why I LOVE leftovers!
DeleteDefinitely a massage :D I have pain issues, and I have the *best* massage therapist ever. The gift of feeling closer to normal for a day is wonderful :) (email's in my blogger profile)
ReplyDeleteYep, I have a massage therapist for my neck and shoulder issues from hours at the computer. It hurts, but so good for a bit of relief.
Delete#5 really appeals to me, especially the boat ride on the lake! But since there's a small craft warning for Lake Murray (central SC) tomorrow, I guess we'd better postpone until a less windy day.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the boat ride--whenever you can get it in. :)
DeleteSomeone to clean my house would be awesome.
ReplyDeleteMy ultimate dream--to have someone do this for me on a regular basis. :)
DeleteUhm, wouldn't I be single it would probably be the #1, but since I am I'll go with #5...hopefully sping comes soon!
ReplyDeleteshantih (at) hotmail (dot) it
Seeing as it's below zero in WI today with the windchill, I SO agree--I hope Spring comes soon! Maybe I'll get the hubby on a canoe ride this summer.
DeleteI love flowers. Grocery store flowers are just fine. Since Hubs is retired, we have a LOT of time together so that's not special.
ReplyDeletedmburton72 at gmail dot com
Yes--grocery store flowers are great!
DeleteI would love some special time with my man. We could really use a vacation :)
ReplyDeleterluken05AThotmailDOTcom
And where is your first choice to go? Hubby and I both want to get to Alaska sometime soon (like the next couple years)
DeleteSeeing as my hubby is a long haul truck driver, spending time together is precious.
ReplyDeleteI can totally see that. Hope you get as much as you can!
DeleteSomeone to clean my house please...LOL
ReplyDeleteI see my husband every evening (Thank the Lord) and he cooks once or twice a week. I agree on the flowers. Just plant me some.
Happy Valentine's Day

I like planted flowers, too, but then I have to weed them. And water them. LOL
DeleteSomeone to cook for me would be great.
ReplyDeletebituin76 at hotmail dot com
Yep--even if it's a chef at a restaurant! :)
DeleteAny time spent with the hubs is a wonderful gift!
ReplyDeleteKassandra
sionedkla@gmail.com
Agreed. :)
DeleteNumber 3 would be heaven someone to cook for me...love that.
ReplyDeleteAll you that are choosing the cooking now have me wondering what dinner you'd like. Or would it not matter since you don't have to cook it? :)
DeleteThe Massage & Than Flowers at a later date
ReplyDeleteGreat choice!
DeleteA romantic walk in the woods sounds like the perfect Valentine's day for me.
ReplyDeleteverusbognar (at) gmail (dot) com
:)
DeleteSomeone to clean my house. That would be heaven. I'd have listed that first, but in case the hubby reads this--Look Honey, I listed you first!
ReplyDeletemagic5905 at embarqmail dot com
Thanks!
Delete#1 or #3. We have 5 kids at home and I agree trying to feed a family of 7 when everyone is so picky isn't fun either.
ReplyDeleteLori
lorih824 at yahoo dot com
7--yikes! I'm only cooking for 4. :)
Delete#2
ReplyDeletebn100candg at hotmail dot com
:)
DeleteNumber 2 would be my choice. It would free up my time so that I could do something else more worthwhile.
ReplyDeleteJFWisherd(at)aol(dot)com
In my opinion, just about anything is more worthwhile than cleaning. LOL
Delete#2, someone to clean my house, would be fantastic!!!
ReplyDeletemslizzyj(at)gmail(dot)com
#2 someone to clean my house would be amazing.
ReplyDeletemarypres(AT)gmail(DOT)com
Cleaning house seems to be the clear front runner. :)
DeleteThe $50 Gift Card - So I can get my wonderful OH out for dinner for a change !!! :-) :-) :-)
ReplyDelete:)
Delete#5 sounds good to me - regnod(at)yahoo(d0t)com
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteSomeone to clean my house would be so fantastic! I'm very allergic to dust, so cleaning stirs up the dust, wich causes asthma problems, and it's a vicious cycle! I love reading your books, though! And thank you for this giveaway opportunity!
ReplyDeleteSheabeforewilliams(at)yahoo(dot)com
I'd definitely be avoiding the cleaning if I were you. Unfortunately, that probably doesn't help the asthma. Thanks on my book and you're welcome on the giveaway. :)
DeleteMy favorite would be somebody to clean my house! Thanks for the fun giveaway!
ReplyDeleteForgot to leave my email address: Judy Schechter, jsnacc@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteIf I could choose my five perfect gifts for myself I would start with a morning massage. After the massage I would be whisked away for a romantic picnic and some romance with of course, Chocolate’s, Flowers and some good wine.
ReplyDeleteSounds great, Marnie! :)
DeleteWhoa--I'm late picking the winner. Sorry ladies!
ReplyDeleteThe Random.org winner is: VERONIKA !
I'll be emailing you so I can get the $10 gift card sent over.
Thank you to all of you who entered!
ReplyDeleteI got to read lots of articles on your blog.
